BONDIA MAHABUSU: Cheka kizimbani kwa kujeruhi

BONDIA nyota wa ngumi za kulipwa nchini, Francis Cheka (30) maarufu kama SMG, amepandishwa kizimbani katika Mahakama ya Hakimu Mkazi Mkoa wa Morogoro kujibu shitaka la kujeruhi. Mbele ya hakimu wa mahakama hiyo, Said Msuya, ilidaiwa na mwendesha mashitaka wa polisi, Aminatha Mazengo, kuwa Cheka alitenda kosa hilo Julai 2, majira ya jioni eneo la Vijana Social Hall, Manispaa ya Morogoro. Mwendesha mashitaka huyo alidai kuwa bila halali huku akijua kuwa ni kosa kisheria, Cheka alimpiga ngumi kichwani na tumboni mtu aliyefahamika kwa jina la Bahati Kamanda na kumsababishia maumivu. Baada ya kusomewa shitaka, Cheka alikana kutenda kosa hilo hivyo kesi hiyo ilihairisha hadi Julai 23, mwaka huu itakapotajwa tena. MWILI wa aliyekuwa mwanariadha, kocha na kiongozi wa zamani wa Riadha Tanzania (RT), Ernest Saria aliyefariki usiku wa kuamkia Jumanne, unatarajiwa kuagwa leo saa 3 asubuhi katika kituo cha Polisi, Kurasini jijini Dar es Salaam. Akithibitisha hilo jijini Dar es Salaam jana, Katibu Mkuu wa RT, Suleima Nyambui alisema, shughuli za kuagwa kwa mwili wa marehemu, zitaanza saa tatu asubuhi katika kituo hicho kabla ya kusafirishwa kupelekwa mjini Moshi, Mkoani Kilimanjaro. Saria alifikwa na umauti huo akiwa nyumbani kwake, Pugu jijini Dar es Salaam, bada ya kuugua maradhi ya malaria na dengue. Katika uhai wake, Saria aliwahi kushika nyadhifa mbalimbali katika mchezo wa RT ikiwemo ya Katibu wa Kamati ya Ufundi ya RT na Mjumbe wa Kamati ya Utendaji hadi mwaka juzi, alipowania nafasi ya Makamu wa Pili wa Mwenyekiti Ufundi. NAIBU Waziri wa Sheria na Katiba, Angela Kairuki, ameahidi zawadi ya shilingi milioni moja kwa atakayevunja rekodi katika mashindano ya riadha ya taifa yatakayofanyika Juni 12 na 13, jijiji Dar es Salaam. Ahadi hiyo ilitolewa jana na naibu waziri huyo wakati akifunga semina ya waamuzi 22 watakaoendesha mashindano hayo na kuongeza kuwa wanariadha wanahitaji sapoti waweze kufanya vizuri kitaifa na kimataifa. “Michezo inakuza uchumi, pia ni sehemu ya maisha ya binadamu, ni muhimu tukiwa tunawapa sapoti wanariadha mbalimbali, hivyo mimi kama mdau wa mchezo huo naahidi kutoa hela hiyo ili aendelee kuwa mwanariadha bora,” alisema. The Team Scotland parade uniform was unveiled in Stirling, with the team's colours including fuschia, navy and tartan pattern Team Scotland have unveiled a bizarre line of kitwear for the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Athletes were handed their new kit at the team's official meeting in Stirling, with over 400 athletes and officials in attendance. It will see Team Scotland wear a bright mixture of colours during the opening ceremony, with its turquoise, fuchsia and navy blue set on a burnt caramel background produced by House of Edgar at the Isle Mill in Keith, Aberdeenshire. Designed by textile guru Jill Blackwood, she says there will be "no mistakening Team Scotland" members with their new uniform. Glasgow 2014 call on spectators to plan journeys as countdown continues

Spectators are being encouraged to make use of extended public transport services in place for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games ©Glasgow 2014 Organisers are calling on spectators to leave their cars at home and walk or cycle to events with more than 1,000 additional cycle parking spaces installed for the Games which spectators will find signposted at all venues. With the exception of the Barry Buddon Shooting Centre in Carnoustie, there will be no car parking at or near venues, except for pre-booked wheelchair users and blue badge parking. Dedicated spectator Park and Ride sites will be in operation, which must be booked in advance, for the Opening Ceremony at Celtic Park, Mountain Bike Trial at Cathkin Braes, athletics events and the Closing Ceremony at Hampden Park, rugby sevens at Ibrox and the triathlon competition at Strathclyde Country Park, for spectators with tickets on the day they are attending an event.
