Andrea Sambu na Mohamed Msenduki wafuzu madola upande wa riadha

Mohamed Msenduki Wanariadha Andrew Sembu na Mohamed Msenduki  wamefikia viwango vya kushiriki michezo ya Jumuiya ya  Madola vilivyowekwa na Shirikisho la riadha Tanzania   (AT).    Riadha ni miongoni mwa michezo minane ya Tanzania  iliyotajwa na Kamati ya Olimpiki Tanzania (TOC)  kuiwakilisha nchi kwenye michezo ya madola itakayofanyika  katikati ya mwaka huu nchini Scotland . Sambu alifikia viwango hivyo kwenye mbio za Dazuo  Marathon zilizofanyika mwishoni mwa mwezi uliopita nchini  China baada ya kutumia saa 2:14:30 kwenye marathoni (km  42). Msenduki ametumia saa 2:12:08 kwenye mbio  nyingine za marathon zilizofanyika nchini humo. “Hatuwezi kuwaacha kwani wametumia muda mzuri ambao  RT tuliuweka kwa ajili ya wakimbiaji wetu wa madola,”  alisema Katibu Mkuu wa RT, Suleiman Nyambui. LOS ANGELES AWARDED 2016 OLYMPIC MARATHON TRIALS

City of Angels/Los Angeles The City of Los Angeles will host the Women’s and Men’s 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Marathon, USA Track & Field , the U.S. Olympic Committee , Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti , and LA MARATHON LLC announced Wednesday. The 2016 Olympic Trials will be held Feb. 13, 2016. Tax Exemption Required: Kenya athletes threaten boycott over tax

Some of Kenya's top athletes have threatened to stop representing their nation at international competitions like the Olympics over new tax laws. Wesley Korir, an MP and former Boston marathon winner, said athletes would end up paying tax twice as they already pay tax on their winnings abroad. Addressing a forum of athletes in Eldoret, he said athletes only pocket about 15% of their earnings. The move could also see many athletes changing nationality, he said. Kenya is home to some of the world's best middle- and long-distance runners. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) wants prize-winning athletes to pay the top rate of tax - 30% - on their earnings from this month.   SOURCE: BBC NEWS

Kip Keino ,  byname of Hezekiah Kipchoge Keino    (born January 17, 1940 , Nandi Hills, Kenya ), Kenyan distance runner, who won four Olympic medals. Keino’s father, a long-distance runner, encouraged his son in the sport. Keino herded goats and trained in Kenya’s hill country, which prepared him well for high-altitude competition. He emerged as a leading distance runner during the mid-1960s, setting world records in the 3,000 metres (7 min 39.6 sec) and the 5,000 metres (13 min 24.2 sec). At the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City , Keino suffered from severe abdominal pains (later attributed to gallbladder problems). Despite warnings from doctors, he competed in six distance races in eight days. In his first final the 10,000 metres the Kenyan’s pain became unbearable, and he collapsed on the infield with just two laps to go.
