Gidabuday: The Tanzanian American young and up-coming athlete

  Sydney Wilhelm Gidabuday with (Tanzania Uniforms) PR i Congratulations Sydney Wilhelm Gidabuday ! He competed in the 1500 Invitational and 5000 invitational heats at the Long Beach Invitational, held 4/19/14. He won the 5000m with a PR time of 14:26.30. Tamasha: DAA, RT waandaa mbio za Muungano

Thabit Bashir / Katibu msaidizi DAA CHAMA cha Riadha Mkoa wa Dar es Salaam (DAA), kwa kushirikiana na Shirikisho la Riadha Tanzania (RT), wameandaa mashindano maalumu kuadhimisha miaka 50 ya Muungano wa Tanganyika na Zanzibar. Kwa mujibu wa Katibu Msaidizi wa DAA, Thabity Bashir, mbio HIZO zitafanyika Aprili 25 jijini Dar es Salaam na kushirikisha wachezaji kutoka mikoa ya Dar es Salaam, Pwani na visiwani Zanzibar. Bashir aliitaja michezo itakayoshindaniwa kuwa ni mita 100, Relay mita 100 na 400, mitupo na mita 5,000. Alitoa wito kwa mashabiki, wapenzi wa riadha na michezo kwa ujumla, kujitokeza kwa wingi Uwanja wa Taifa, ambako kiingilio ni bure. CHANZO: Tanzania Daima

RIADHA: Tunawatakia maandalizi na ushiriki mwema Ngorongoro Half Marathon

Kesho April 19, 2014 wilayani Karatu mamia ya wanariadha watashiriki mashindano yenye kubeba jina maarufu sana Africa na ulimwenguni kote, jina ambalo linatokana na ‘Ngorongoro Crater’ Sisi waandaaji wa Sokoine Mini Marathon tutajifunza mengi kutoka kwa wenzetu wa Ngorongoro Half Marathon kwani wao ni wakongwe katika maandalizi ya mbio kubwa hapa nchini. Pia tunawapongeza wanariadha waliojitoa kushiriki mbio mbili ndani ya wiki moja, bila shaka ni kwa ajili ya uzalendo wao na mapenzi yao kwa mchezo wa riadha. Tunaamini kwamba hivi sasa Tanzania ipo katika ‘mpito’ wa kutafuta namna bora ya kurudisha heshima katika riadha; Heshima iliyoletwa hapo zamani na akina John Steven Akhwari, Filbert Bayi, Gidamis Shahanga, Juma Ikangaa, Mwinga Mwanjala, Suleimana Nyambui nk. ‘Tunawatakia Ijumaa Kuu njema, mashindanomema na hatimaye Pasaka njema’

Ilikuwa siku ngumu yenye changamoto nyingi iliyosababishwa na hali ya mvua, lakini ilikuwa ‘Mission Accomplished’ Asante mheshimiwa rais na Spika wa bunge kwa kuja kutuunga mkono. Kwa kumbukumbu zangu sijawahi kuona msafara mkubwa wa kitaifa ulioongozana na msafara wa rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania. Ilikuwa fursa nzuri ya kuwaona watawala wa nchi hii inayoelekea kuadhimisha NUSU KARNE ya muungano wake uliojaa historia ya pekee na amani.   Msafara huo uliwajumuisha watu maarufu ambao ni pamoja na rais mstaafu Benjamin Mkapa, mawaziri wakuu wastaafu Salim Ahmed Salim na Edward Lowassa, Mama Maria Nyerere, Spika wa Bunge Anna Makinda, waziri wa Habari, Vijana, Utamaduni na Michezo Dr. Fenela Mukangara na wabunge wengi sana.  Wanariadha wote walifurahi sana kupata nafasi hiyo adimu ya kuwaona watawala wetu wakiweka shada za maua katika kaburi la shujaa Sokoine. Tanzania: Sokoine Marathon to Become International Event

AFTER running for two consecutive years, the annual Sokoine Marathon will now be registered to become one of the international races and be included in the world marathon timetables . Race coordinator Wilhelm Gidabuday said until now the Sokoine Marathon was being supported by the family of the late Prime Minister, Edward Moringe Sokoine, through his daughter, Namelok, but once the event goes international, it will be able to generate its own running costs. "We don't want the family to keep funding the race but rather the event should now be supporting the Sokoine Foundation," stated Gidabuday, who hails from Hanang'. The 2014 Sokoine Marathon which went in-sync with the 30th Anniversary of the late premier's death in Monduli, raced for 10 kilometres.
