Stars land Shs.1 Million from Nakuru governor

Nakuru  county Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has pledged 1Million shillings bonus to Harambee Stars should they win their last group A match against Zanzibar on Tuesday afternoon at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru
Kenya need plus three goal to top the group after Ethiopia had beaten South Sudan 2-0 in the earlier match at the same venue.
Kinuthia speaking prior to the match urged the players to enjoy the match while urging the fans from near and far to enjoy the county’s hospitality.
“Mine is to motivate the players to play, entertain the fans and win the match. Being the home team there is no other option but to win the tournament.” Said Mbugua.
“Nakuru has good playing grounds and that is something we are proud of. We want to encourage the officials that more games be brought to this sides.” Said the governor whose county gave ksh 5m towards the  2013 tournament organization.
The governor talked positively of the large turn out that jam packed the stadium saying fans are being starved of football.
“As you can see the stadium is jam packed with passionate fans. They are quietly calling for more matches in this county.” He added.
Nakuru becomes the third county to host the tournament after, Nairobi and Machakos counties hosted the initial stages of the regional tournament.
