Dr.Mgimwa's Burial Set for Monday 6th 2014 at his home place in Magunga village Iringa district

The burial of the late Minister for Finance and Member of Parliament (Iringa Constituency) Dr. William Mgimwa is expected to be held on January 06, 2014 at his home place in Magunga village Iringa district.

Addressing journalists yesterday in Dar Es Salaam, the Burial Committee Chairperson William Lukuvi who is also the Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, said that following the death of Dr. Mgimwa the government has created two burial committees that will organise and make sure that the deceased is buried in all respectful national manner.

“There is a main committee that will operate here in Dar Es Salaam and this committee will involve members from the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, The Parliament of Tanzania, whereas the minor committee will be under the chairmanship of Iringa Regional Commissioner Dr. Ishengoma,” Mr. Lukuvi said.

“The body of the late Dr. Mgimwa will arrive at the Julius Nyerere International Airport on the January 4 at 1300 hours in terminal II, where by relatives, friends, and government officials will receive the body,” Mr. Lukuvi said.
After that, a journey to his home place Mikocheni B will start, and the body will stay there until evening, when it will be transported to the morgue at Lugalo Military Hospital,” Mr. Lukuvi said.

“On the following day the January 5, the body will be brought back at home and at 1130 hours it will be presented at Karimjee Hall where people will get a chance to pay their last respect and conduct prayers for the deceased,” Mr. Lukuvi added.

 “After the service, the body will be transported to terminal I at JNIA to start its last journey to Iringa and the body will be received by the Iringa Municipal Council, where the deceased was the Member of Parliament and the people of Iringa will get a chance to pay their last respect,” Mr. Lukuvi said.

From there the body will be brought to his home village of Magunga where it will stay over the night and other family programs will continue and on the January 6 the late Dr. Mgimwa will be laid to rest in a national respectful manner.
