Slim drop for Taifa Stars in latest Fifa rankings

Tanzania National soccer team at the start of one of their matches held the home field
The National soccer team, Taifa Stars, has dropped two spots up on the latest Fifa rankings released yesterday.

Tanzania now occupies position 112 on the global table down from 110 as ranked in October.
The fall can be linked with a 1-1 draw Taifa Stars managed against a lowly ranked team, Swaziland, early this month.
Swaziland were rated at position 160 last month, but after forcing Tanzania to a one-all draw, they have risen by two spots. With their recent qualification for the Africa Cup of Nations, Guinea is one of the best movers on the table ranking moving 17 places up to occupy position 38.
Mali also moved up nine places to position 49 with Egypt being one of the biggest droppers falling 22 positions to occupy position 60. According to the latest rankings, the top seven positions remain unaltered with world champions Germany still ahead of Argentina and Colombia.
Tanzania’s best year will still remain 1995 when the team was ranked at position 65 globally. A total of 150 new ‘A’ international matches have been taken into account for the November edition of the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking, bringing the total number of matches evaluated in 2014 to 817.
Sixty-one of these matches were part of continental qualifiers in Europe, Africa and the CONCACAF region, with the other 89 being friendly matches.
