ANDREW SAMBU: One of the world's best athletes in 1990's

Andrew Sambu from Masakta Hanang Manyara competed in the men's 5000 meters at the 1992 Summer Olympics Games in Barcelona Spain; Sambu is perhaps the most consistent Tanzania athlete who has competed internationally for more than three decades.
He is undoubtedly the only Tanzanian to have crossed the world cross country finish line as number one, it was at the 1991 Antwerp World Cross Country Championships in Belgium as Gebrselassie of Ethiopia finished 8th place.
