LWIZA MSYANI JOHN: Tanzania women’s 800m national record holder

Lwiza John (C) at her very early years of running 

Lwiza John dominated track events in the 1990’s till early 2000, she set the national record on September 9th 2000 in Yokohama Japan; she posted her astonishing personal best of 1:59.58 over the 800 meters.

Ms Lwiza currently holds the position of Member of Athletics Tanzania’s Executive Committee.

Her highest achievements include; 

    2001 East African Championships - gold medal

    2003 All-Africa Games - bronze medal

    2003 East African Championships - gold medal
