Phaustin Baha Sulle: The first sub 60 minutes Half Marathoner in Tanzania

Phaustin Baha Sulle

Phaustin Baha Sulle was born on May 30th 1982 in Manyara (then aka) Arusha. He won the silver medal at the 2000 World Half Marathon Championships where he refused to receive his award until he saw Tanzania Flag displayed as other countries.

In 1999 he won the Paris Half Marathon and set a course record at the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale, in 2000 he ran 59 minutes and 36 seconds in a fast Lisborn Half Marathon course capturing 4th place as Paul Tergat took the race.
