Dubai all set for Guinness World Record of Largest Fireworks Display on New Year 2014

The World's tallest building Its been reported by Gulf News that on this New Year 2014 Dubai is all set to break Guinness World Record of largest fireworks display set by Kuwait in November 2012 to celebrated their 50th anniversary of its constitution.  Largest fireworks display to take place at The Palm and World Islands . Previous record set by Kuwait in November 2012. That fireworks display used 77,282 fireworks and stretched over 5km area lasting 1hrs and 4mins.  Talal Omar, Guinness World Record ltd.’s Country Manager of Middle East and North Africa, said: “We are waiting for Dubai to break the record. With this, it becomes an international destination for celebration. The UAE holds 131 world records, most being set in Dubai. Applications for fresh records are pouring in every day.” Omar also added that the drive for records shows a desire to achieve. “Dubai is a rapidly evolving market. It is fascinating to note the passion people have for achievements.”

Ernest Mango is taking over the position previously held by IGP Said Mwema, speculation is scattered across the country that the removal of Said Mwema may be just the normal retirement process as others go father by saying the removal has to do with the incidents such as the brutal killing   of the journalist David Mwangosi and the aftermath of other unsolved incidents their after across the country. Said Mwema is stepping down after serving approximately 7 yrs as Tanzania Inspector General of Police (IGP). Rio de Janeiro: Galeao fix before 2016 Olympic Games

Arup has assisted Airports of the Future consortium formed by Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht and Singaporean operator Changi Airport Group in winning the auction of the Rio de Janeiro International Airport (Galeao).  The amount offered, $8 billion (BRL 19 billions) was about 294% of the minimum bid of $2.4 billion (BRL 4.82 billion). Airport concession is for 25 years. Rio 2016 Olympics: Sweden to lend Brazil fighter jets

Sweden will loan Brazil several Gripen NG fighter jets, the kind the South American country recently purchased from Swedish firm Saab, in time for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, a media report said. The jets will be loaned to Brazil by the Swedish Air Force, since the 36 purchased won't be ready for delivery until 2023, reported Xinhua Friday citing Brazilian news website G1. Rio 2016 Summer Olympics are to be held in Rio de Janeiro between Aug 5-21 Brazil made the purchase to upgrade its air force fleet of Mirage jets, which are about to be retired.
