Tabu Ley Rocherea Mwanamuziki maarufu wa Kiafrika na mfalme wa muziki wa Rumba toka nchini Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo DRC, Tabu Ley Rochereau amefariki dunia jana jumamosi akiwa hospitalini nchini Ubelgiji akiwa na umri wa miaka 76. Familia ya mwanamuziki huyo imethibitisha taarifa hizo na kusema mazishi yake yanatarajiwa kufanyika jijini Kinshasa baada ya mwili wake kurejeshwa. Tabu Ley ambaye jina lake halisi ni Pascal Sinyamwe Tabu, alizaliwa tarehe 13 Novemba 1937 huko Bandundu Magharibi mwa DRCongo, na umaarufu wake katika Muziki wa Rumba ulishika kasi zaidi katika miaka ya 1960. Alikuwa ni miongoni mwa Wanamuziki maarufu wa Kiafrika waliobobea katika utunzi, uimbaji na uadhishi wa nyimbo. Dr.Kikwete/President of Tanzania Mwanza — Mwanza Regional Commissioner, Engineer Evarist Ndikilo, told journalists here at a press conference attended by Coca-Cola Tanzania Country Manager Yebeltal Getachew and other government officials yesterday that the President will postpone his tour of Simiyu region to receive the trophy. "I would like to inform you that President Jakaya Kikwete will postpone his Simiyu tour and he will be here tomorrow (today) to receive the World Cup trophy," he said.   "On behalf of Mwanza region, I thank him very much for accepting our request and rescheduling his timetable of Simiyu region tour that has made possible the trophy to be received in our region for the first time in history," he added. John Stephen Akhwari Tanzanian marathon runner John Stephen Akhwari was never going to won a medal at Mexico City in 1968 . But his journey to the finish line is probably better remembered than that of the winner, Mamo Wolde of Ethiopia .  Less than halfway into the 42km race, Akhwari tangled with another runner and took a horrific fall, smashing his knee and shoulder on the pavement. With his knee reportedly dislocated and heavily bleeding, his race should have ended there. But instead it became one of the great tales of sporting courage, bravely, he continued running. As his rivals crossed the line one by one, Akhwari remained out on the course, in pain, but determined to see out the race, he did just that. Iraqw people dancing as they thank god during the harvest season The Iraqw tribe is one of the few non- Bantu tribes in Tanzania . They are Cushitic of Ethiopian origin - and their appearance is distinctive: they tend to be tall and light-skinned, with the prominent cheekbones and high foreheads common to people of Cushitic extraction. However, it is uncertain when they migrated to northern Tanzania . Estimates vary between 1000 and 5000 years ago.
