Viongozi wa TTA wakiongea na waandishi Shirikisho la Tenisi la Kimataifa (ITF) limetoa nafasi moja ya upendeleo kwa mchezaji wa Tanzania kushiriki kwenye mashindano ya Tenisi ya Afrika kwa vijana chini ya miaka 18 yaliyopangwa kufanyika mapema Machi katika nchi mbili tofauti. Awali Tanzania ilipitisha wachezaji wanne waliofuzu kushiriki kwenye mashindano hayo ambayo yatafanyika jijini Nairobi, Kenya kwa wachezaji wenye umri chini ya miaka 16 na Cassablanca, Morocco kwa wachezaji chini ya miaka 18. Kwa mujibu wa kocha wa timu ya taifa ya vijana, Kiango Kipingu, chama cha Tenisi Tanzania (TTA) kimepewa nafasi nyingine moja kwenye michuano hiyo ambayo ITF imesema itachagua yenyewe mchezaji huyo ambaye itamghariamia kwa kila kitu. “Kutokana na motisha hiyo ya ITF sasa Tanzania itawakilishwa na wachezaji watano ambao wanne kati yao walifikia viwango vya kushiriki mashindano ya Afrika baada ya kufanya vizuri kwenye yale ya Afrika Mashariki na kati hivi karibuni jijini Dar

The chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for Foreign Affairs, Security and Defence, Mr Edward Lowassa, has urged the ministry of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports to settle its recent misunderstanding with media practitioners in the country. Mr Lowassa said this yesterday when his committee was bidding farewell to Kondoa South Member of Parliament, Mr Juma Nkamia (CCM), who was recently appointed deputy minister for Information, Culture, Youth and Sports. Mr Lowassa said it was not fair for the ministry, which is custodian of the media in the country, to be blacklisted by the same industry. “Please, you should sit down with media practitioners and discuss your differences. Both you and the media should compromise because no one has monopoly rights to this country,” said Mr Lowassa. He also urged the ministry to make sure that the new Information and Media Bill is tabled in Parliament as soon as possible.   SOURCE: The Citizen/Tanzania

Ann aliwahi kuwa ripota wa BBC mjini Addis Ababa Ethiopia. Kabla ya kujiunga na BBC Ann alifanya kazi na shirika la habari la Nation Media Group nchini Kenya na Citizen TV.
