JUMA IKANGAA: “The will to win is nothing without the will to prepare”

Image
'Ndiyo maana hata leo huko Morogoro wanariadha chipukizi wanakimbia peku hali mak...

KAMANDA (RT) ATOKA NDUKI MOSCOW, ASEMA “TUMESHINDWA”

Image

Mo Farah reaches World 5,000m final to keep alive double hopes

Image
Mo Farah's bid to add the World 10,000m and 5,000m titles to his Olympic golds remains on track after he eased into the final over the shorter distance. The defending champion was fifth in his heat, the final automatic qualifying position, in 13 minutes 23.93 seconds. If he wins Friday's final, Farah will emulate Ethiopia's Kenenisa Bekele and become the second man to win 10,000m and 5,000m Olympic and World titles. "You have to do the job without going crazy," the Briton told BBC Sport.  "My body feels good, the team have been looking after me well and I'm recovering well." The 30-year-old, who won the distance double at the London 2012 Olympics, became the first British man to win a 10,000m world title last Saturday. And he began his defence of the 5,000m crown he won in Daegu in 2011 in comfortable fashion. He was in third or fourth for much of the heat befor...

By Aimee Lewis BBC  Coverage: Live on BBC TV, BBC Radio 5 live, BBC Sport website, mobiles, tablets and Connected TVs. Double Olympic champion Mo Farah created history once again in Moscow as he became the first British man to win a 10,000m world title. A year on from winning the 10,000m and 5,000m in London, the 30-year-old moved a step closer to repeating his Olympic feat in the Russian capital. The Londoner saw off 2011 champion Ibrahim Jeilan in a thrilling sprint finish, crossing the line in 27 minutes and 21.71 seconds. Ethiopia's Jeilan (27:22.23) had to settle for silver, just as Farah did at the World Championships two years ago, while Paul Tanui (27:22.61) secured bronze for Kenya. Farah's victory brought the Great Britain team their first medal of the World Championships on the opening day. "I had the experience from two years ago," Farah told BBC Sport. "I knew I just had to cov...
